AKC Canine Health Foundation Celebrates Impactful 2025 National Parent Club Canine Health Conference

RALEIGH, N.C., Aug. 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of all dogs through research and discovery, celebrates a successful 2025 National Parent Club Canine Health Conference. Held every two years and sponsored by Nestlé Purina since 1997, the event shares the latest canine health research with a community committed to improving the health of dogs.

"Science for Healthy, Vibrant Dogs" was the theme of the 15^th biennial conference, which brought together hundreds of canine health researchers, breeders, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary students, and dog lovers in Durham, North Carolina.

Marking the Foundation's 30^th anniversary, CHF was proud to host the National Parent Club Canine Health Conference in its home state for the first time, a milestone moment for the Foundation.

Attendance at this year's event was among the highest in conference history, reflecting steady growth over the years and underscoring its reputation as a premier gathering for leaders and advocates invested in the health of dogs. There were nearly 50 veterinary students and residents in attendance, representing more than 20 universities.

Dr. Jason Stull, professor and researcher at the University of Prince Edward Island, received the Asa Mays Excellence in Canine Health Research Award. Established 20 years ago at the 6^th biennial conference, this award honors investigators who have significantly advanced knowledge, improved practices, and driven progress in canine health research.
