Alabama and Arkansas Tornados Inflict Damage to Cobridge Communications Video Services.

ST. LOUIS, April 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Waves of severe storms and destructive tornados that plowed through Arkansas and Alabama on Tuesday and Wednesday have caused damage to Cobridge Communications systems in both states, as well as to the electrical grids that provide power for the company's services. As of 11 a.m. today the following communities have been impacted:

ALABAMA

• Baileyton area–Power outages.  Cable and fiber lines, along with numerous transport poles are down.  Television service to an estimated 600 customers has been interrupted.
• Rainsville area - Power outages.  Limited damage to cable lines, but a significant number of transport poles are down.  Television service to an estimated 525 customers has been interrupted.
• Henagar area – Power outages.  Severe damage to cable lines, transport poles and network equipment.  Television service to an estimated 770 customers has been interrupted.
• Killen area – Power outages.  Minor damage to cable lines.  Intermittent television service interruptions as the power company works to restore the grid.
• Haleyville/Double Springs area – Power outages.  Widespread damage to cable and power lines. Television service to an estimated 810 has been interrupted.

ARKANSAS

• Vilonia area – Power outages.  Severe damage to cable lines, transport poles and network equipment.  Television service to an estimated 125 customers has been interrupted.
• Beebe area – Power outages.  Damage to cable lines and transport poles.  Television service to an estimated 90 customers has been interrupted.

Cobridge technical crews, with assistance from contractors, are following power companies where physical plant is accessible and it has been deemed safe to assess damage and restore service. Additional crews are being routed to both Alabama and Arkansas to assist in restoration and damage evaluation. Areas only affected by power outages should have service restored once the power is back online.
