Alaska Airlines Inaugurates Portland-Honolulu Service

SEATTLE, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Alaska Airlines today is launching daily service between Portland, Ore., and Honolulu. The airline already flies between Portland and Kahului, Maui, and will begin service between Portland and Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii, on Nov. 12, 2010.

Alaska Airlines is offering introductory $169 one-way fares between Portland and Honolulu, and $179 one-way fares between Portland and Kona for tickets purchased by Sept. 27, 2010. Sale fares are available for travel between Portland and Honolulu, starting today through Feb. 16, 2011, and between Portland and Kona from Nov. 12, 2010, to Feb. 16, 2011.

In addition to the introductory fare sale, all Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members are eligible to earn Double Miles when they fly between Portland and one of several cities. The cities include Anchorage, Alaska; Honolulu; Kahului, Maui; Kona; Medford, Ore.; Oakland, Calif.; Orange County, Calif.; Phoenix; Sacramento, Calif.; and Spokane, Wash. Tickets must be purchased by Dec. 31 for travel between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010. To qualify, customers must register at www.alaskaair.com/pdx.

Terms and conditions for one-way fares: Tickets between Portland and Honolulu must be purchased by Sept. 27 for travel from Sept. 20, 2010, through Feb. 16, 2011. Travel is available Monday through Thursday only. Tickets between Portland and Kona must be purchased by Sept. 27 for travel between Nov. 12, 2010, and Feb. 16, 2011. Travel is available Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday only. Blackout dates for travel to Hawaii are: Oct. 6-7, Oct. 11, Nov. 19-21 and Dec. 16-27, 2010. Blackout dates for travel from Hawaii are: Oct. 6-7, Oct. 11, Nov. 27-28, and from Dec. 26, 2010, through Jan. 5, 2011.

Terms and conditions for Double Miles: Registration is required in order to receive Double Miles. Double Miles is valid only on qualifying paid flights booked by Dec. 31, 2010, and flown between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010. Double Miles is only valid on nonstop flights between Portland and select cities. Flight miles must be credited to the passenger's Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account to earn Double Miles.

General terms and conditions: A ticket purchased at an Alaska Airlines airport location or through a reservation call center will cost $15 more per person than the advertised fare.
