Bloom & Birch was formed as a homage to Summers' oldest son, who one-year prior was hospitalized at the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital after a deadly infection almost took his life and a supportive friend sent roses to the child's room. Suzanne knew in that moment after her son was released with a clean bill of health, she would utilize her business platform to give back to others.
Albie, being a strategic brand specialist began offering advice to his friend. "Albie is by far one of the most talented and driven individuals I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He was able to solve the issues I faced as a small business owner," stated Summers. After several meetings in which Summers attributes to Manzo being a solid mentor and friend, Albie grew fonder of the product and became a managing partner in the brand taking on an everyday role in the company's operation.
