Alcatel-Lucent Receives Verizon Supplier Excellence Award

PARIS, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris andNYSE: ALU) today announced it has been recognized by Verizon (NYSE: VZ) as part of the 2009 Verizon Supplier Excellence Award program.  

The Verizon Supplier Excellence Awards recognizes companies that support Verizon's commitment to continuous improvement of quality and service to its customers through a passion for excellence.  Criteria for winning includes: quality of service, year over year growth, a commitment to supplier diversity, meeting and exceeding performance metrics, providing cost management solutions and excellent customer service.

Alcatel-Lucent was one of 11 companies to be recognized in 11 categories.  Alcatel-Lucent received the Verizon Supplier Excellence Award in the "Network Services -- Large" category, which recognized outstanding effort and achievement for Tier III Technical Support Services during 2009, including multi-vendor maintenance services.
