OREM, Utah, Oct. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On July 3, 2018, Alder Holdings, LLC sued ADT LLC in the U.S District Court for the Southern District of Florida for multiple breaches of a court ordered injunction by ADT and for ADT representatives making false, deceptive and misleading statements about Alder, its business, and its equipment to Alder customers to dupe them to switch to ADT.
Further, Alder learned through testimony given by an ADT executive that ADT stifled competition and used bullying tactics against Alder by initiating a "fake news" story with Inside Edition. This story relied on deception to acquire video and sound bites which were used out of context to portray Alder's sales practices in a false narrative. ADT consistently refers customers who have switched services from ADT to Alder to the Inside Edition story to manipulate these customers to switch back to ADT.
Alder asserts that ADT refuses to comply with the terms of a court ordered injunction entered on October 20, 2017, that required ADT and Alder to fulfill their respective obligations under settlement agreement reached between Alder and ADT in open court on May 24, 2017.
Alder claims that, in addition to ADT's breach of the permanent injunction, ADT's representatives used false and deceptive misrepresentations to Alder customers to cause these customers to cancel their services with Alder and switch to ADT.
Alder currently provides award-winning security, home automation, and life safety products and services throughout the United States.
