Alliant Credit Union Appoints Mike Dobbins as Chief Executive Officer

Financial services and fintech executive brings decades of experience to lead Alliant

Former Interim CEO Ken Schaafsma to continue serving as Chief Risk Officer

CHICAGO, June 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Alliant Credit Union ("Alliant") today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Mike Dobbins as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Dobbins succeeds Interim CEO Ken Schaafsma, who will continue to serve Alliant as Chief Risk Officer.

Mr. Dobbins brings over 30 years of financial services and fintech experience, with a track record of driving innovation, building high-performing teams and leading organizations through transformative growth. He joins Alliant from Framework Venture Partners, where he served as Venture Partner and Senior Advisor. Prior to that, he held executive roles at RBC, Canada's largest bank—including EVP of Personal Finance and Head of U.S Banking, Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer and Founder of RBC Ventures. Earlier, Mike also served in a variety of roles at Capital One in the U.S., ultimately serving as Executive Vice President of Consumer Banking. Throughout his career, Mr. Dobbins has also served on several boards including Futurpreneur Canada, Right to Play and Habitat for Humanity.
