ZUG, Switzerland, March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, AG (NYSE: AWH) announced today that Susan Chmieleski has been appointed President, Professional Lines for Allied World U.S. In this role she will be responsible for the production and profitability of all departments underwriting directors & officers liability, errors & omissions liability and medical malpractice liability. Ms. Chmieleski replaces John McElroy who was recently named Chief Operating Officer for Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, AG. Mr. McElroy had been President, Professional Lines for Allied World U.S. since 2008.

She holds Connecticut Law and Nursing Licenses and is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Society for Risk Management and was a member of the Board of Directors. She is a faculty member at PLUS University and a current member of the PLUS Board.
