Allison Manno Named Among The Most Influential Women In Benefit Advising
MINNEAPOLIS, June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Allison Manno, senior vice president, Compliance, Health e(fx), was named one of the Most Influential Women in Benefit Advising by Employee Benefit Adviser (EBA) magazine in June. The awards recognize leading women in the employee benefits space who are successful in their own right, and who elevate the status of all women in the profession.
A national health care reform expert, Manno received the award for her leadership in helping employers, third-party service providers, and advisors manage medical benefits and ensure compliance under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Manno is a co-founder of Health e(fx), which offers the most comprehensive, end-to-end ACA solution in the market. With Manno's guidance, Health e(fx) was the first to both successfully solve the ACA challenge and successfully submit automated, annual IRS Forms 1094/1095 for 2015 on behalf of its clients.
The ACA has disrupted the benefits industry as it continues to evolve. Since employers were never before required to aggregate and report information to the level of detail the ACA mandates, most did not have the technology, systems, and process flows in place to meet the requirements. Manno has been instrumental in developing industry-leading best practices and processes for ongoing data aggregation and auditing, workforce management, compliance, and data analytics under the ACA.
In 2015, Manno led her team to successfully support more than 250 large employers in meeting ACA reporting requirements for 2015, the first year that employers were at risk for penalties. Health e(fx) automated the filing of more than 4.3 million IRS reporting forms during the first quarter of 2016.
ACA reporting requirements were new to most everyone, including the IRS, employers, benefits advisors, and solution providers. Many viewed the ACA as an "eligibility tracking" problem, but Manno's view was always different. She understood that employer decisions on compliance and benefits management can have a very significant impact on total cost, employee morale, and the design and management of benefits. Her focus on providing a solution that goes beyond simple compliance reporting to include workforce management and analytics is the result of her deep expertise.
Manno has been involved in the ongoing review of federal guidance and the ACA legislation since the earliest development of health reform. She continues to provide advisory and expert review and testimony directly with the White House Administration, Health and Human Services (HHS), IRS, Treasury, members of Congress, and numerous industry associations.
Health e(fx) offers the industry's leading end-to-end workforce management, compliance, and analytics solution for managing the ACA. Health e(fx) supports employers, third-party administrators, benefits advisors, and HR solution outsourcing companies with technology and expertise to help them simplify the complexities of the ACA, make better strategic benefits decisions, and calm the chaos of compliance and reporting. Managing ACA compliance and reporting for more than 4 million employees across a variety of industries, Health e(fx) was named Top HR Product of 2014 by Human Resource Executive magazine.
