AlloSource Starts Construction on New Campus

CENTENNIAL, Colo., May 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AlloSource, a leading developer, processor, and distributor of bone and soft-tissue allografts for use in surgical procedures around the world, broke ground today on a new two-story building addition to their campus.  The construction project, designed by Intergroup Architects and built by The Weitz Company, also includes renovation of more than half of the existing facility.

"From design, to financing, to construction, the preparation for our new campus has been a labor of love for everyone involved since the expansion will further support AlloSource's mission to honor the gift of tissue donation and create new possibilities for patients in need," said Thomas Cycyota, AlloSource President and CEO.  "Additional space will allow us to maximize the impact of each donor. By consolidating our operations onto one campus and expanding our research lab and medical training facility, we will find new ways to better use donated tissue."

In the past year alone, AlloSource's workforce grew by more than 10 percent to support operation and administration development, and the Company expects its workforce to grow again by more than 10 percent in 2011.

A nonprofit organization and one of the nation's premier tissue networks, AlloSource has provided a range of tissue allografts, including bone, skin and joint grafts throughout the country for more than 15 years. Over the last several years, AlloSource has outgrown its original Centennial headquarters and become separated in buildings around the business park.  A new centralized campus was the best solution to the company's growing needs.

The new building will include laboratory space, testing and research facilities, clean rooms, freezer storage and supply chain support, as well as office space, conference rooms, break rooms, equipment rooms and general storage.  The renovation work to the existing building will include freezer storage, receiving, material management, cleaning and sterilization space.  The Company also planned for future growth, leaving undeveloped space for further expansion.

Construction on AlloSource's new building is expected to be completed in spring 2012, while the existing building renovation is expected to be completed in fall 2012.
