Allstate Names Glenn Shapiro Executive Vice President of Claims

Current executive vice president of Claims, Michael J. Roche, to retire

NORTHBROOK, Ill., March 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Allstate Insurance Company today announced that Glenn Shapiro is joining Allstate as executive vice president, Claims, effective April 4. After 14 years of dedicated service to Allstate, Michael J. Roche, executive vice president, Claims, has announced his decision to retire, effective June 10.

Shapiro brings more than 25 years of industry experience to Allstate, most recently serving as executive vice president and chief claims officer for commercial insurance at Liberty Mutual Insurance. Shapiro held numerous leadership positions at Liberty Mutual, including president of Liberty Mutual's managed care business and chief claims officer for the company's Safeco Insurance subsidiary. Prior to Liberty Mutual, Shapiro was chief claims officer for The Hartford Life Insurance Company.

During Roche's tenure, he successfully created a faster and more efficient customer experience and modernized Claims operations at the company. Roche contemporized the Claims experience through customer-friendly mobile and self-service innovations.
