Almar Sales Co. Joins Forces With Candlelighters NYC To Raise Awareness And Funds For St. Baldrick's Foundation

NEW YORK, March 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- New York-based Almar Sales Co. and Candlelighters NYC are teaming up to help their friends at the St. Baldrick's Foundation raise money to conquer childhood cancer—by shaving heads.

Each year, St. Baldrick's hosts their signature Hero Celebration head-shaving event at the Central Park Boathouse to raise funds and awareness for the cause. Both Almar Sales Co. and Candlelighters NYC are leading the charge, helping to create an extravaganza for everyone to enjoy.

When Allen Ash, Vice President of Almar Sales Co. learned about the organization, the father of two offered his resources and bountiful Princess Expressions dress-up products to the children affected by the disease. Ash is a board member of Candlelighters NYC and wants to do more to help find a cure. "Almar Sales Co. is a family business, so it is important to us that we offer support and donations to families in need. Each child that I have met through Candlelighters has forever changed my life. I hope to be able to do the same for each of them."

Candlelighters NYC has been lighting the path to recovery for New York City children and their families affected by cancer for over seven years. President Barbara Zobian has been a longtime supporter of St. Baldrick's and enlists her friends at various organizations to donate everything from the venue to goods and services. This year's event is particularly special because it will commemorate the life of Lieutenant Steve Cioffi, a New York City Police Officer—a St. Baldrick's volunteer who recently lost his own battle to cancer. It will also celebrate the recovery of Jessica Fanini Lemoine—a 19 year-old cancer survivor who grew her own hair back to shave it once again for her friends who are still fighting.
