Altair Semiconductor Appoints General Manager For Europe

HOD HASHARON, Israel, Jan. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Altair Semiconductor (http://www.altair-semi.com), the world's leading developer of ultra-low power, small footprint and high performance 4G LTE chipsets, announced today the appointment of Siegmund M. Redl as the company's General Manager for Europe.

Mr. Redl, who most recently served as Country Manager for Qualcomm in Germany, will now be responsible for driving all of Altair's European business development related activities with OEMs, Mobile Network Operators and industry partners.

Redl is a graduate of Munich's University of Technology and has spent over 20 years in the Mobile Communications Industry.  After having spearheaded Qualcomm's chip business for its CDMA Technologies division in Europe, Redl served as the company's Country Manager, Germany, where he was responsible for developing and strengthening the company's business partnerships in Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic Region.
