Alterra's Royce Doubles Down on Fight Against Malaria; Raises $105,359

PROVO, Utah, Aug. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Malaria causes more than one million deaths annually as a result of disease-infected mosquito bites. Last week Alterra once again joined the fight against Malaria with the United Nations Foundation Nothing But Nets raising total donations to $105,359 in just over a year.

David Royce, Alterra's founder & CEO, has been a loyal supporter of the non-profit Nothing But Nets since 2009, and successfully rallied massive support from Alterra's employees in 2014 raising $31,327.  Last week, Alterra once again enlisted its 1,250 employees to fight the bite throughout a weeklong campaign.  Alterra spread the word posting flyers at each location and utilized Alterra's Facebook page to provide additional information about how employees could help save the lives of thousands of refugee families across sub-Saharan Africa.

Royce said, "As a pest control company, we increase the quality of our customers lives by eliminating unwanted invaders.  However in many underdeveloped countries pests can be a life or death matter.
