
HOUSTON, May 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Houston Chapter of the American Marketing Association announced a record 81 winners at its 29th annual Crystal Awards gala held on May 15, 2015 at Hotel Zaza. The Crystal Awards, the city of Houston's premier marketing gala event, honored the vision and strategic direction of the city's best marketing work. Prior to the gala, judges from outside the Houston area evaluated 361 entries, a program record, in more than 90 categories. A record number of 116 companies and organizations were represented among the Crystal Awards' finalists this year. The 258 finalist entries were on digital display at the event for a crowd that exceeded 500 attendees. After the awards were handed out, the new gala continued until Midnight with a party and reception with a DJ, dancing, networking, and live music from the Houston-based band, Fried Ice Cream.
Among the top winning organizations this year were Halliburton, Emerus Holdings, Inc, and Hart Energy. The coveted Judges' Favorite award went to Emerus Holdings for its Bright Ideas internal marketing communications campaign. For a complete list of Crystal Award winners, visit www.crystalawards.org. Also recognized at the Crystal Awards gala were the 2015 AMA Houston Gives Back grant recipients: U.S Vets, Second Servings, Pup Squad, Playworks, and Bering Support Network. One third of AMA Houston's net profit funds AMA Houston Gives Back the chapter's philanthropic arm. Annual grants assist local non-profits with their marketing-related activities. This year's recipients were selected from more than 40 applications.
