Ameda Launches Ameda Mya Hospital Strength Personal Breast Pump
BUFFALO GROVE, Ill., March 6, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Ameda Breastfeeding Products today officially announced its launch of Ameda Mya™ — first in a new family of hospital strength personal breast pumps. Ameda Mya is a premium hospital strength portable breast pump designed for moms at home, at work or on-the-go.
The Mya family name is an ode to Sister Maya, a historic Ameda figure and the co-creator of the modern breast pump. Sister Maya worked alongside Swedish inventor and founder of Ameda, Einar Egnell, to develop the first breast pump that mimicked a baby's natural nursing rhythm and intensity—the Sister Maya Breast Pump, or SMB.

The Mya pump weighs half a pound and measures 4 by 3.5 inches. The ultra-quiet motor operates features two-phase adjustable suction with ten levels of expression and five levels of massage, with a maximum suction strength of 280mmHg.
