Amedica Names Distinguished Orthopaedic Executive Eric K. Olson to Board of Directors

SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Amedica Corporation, a spinal and reconstructive medical device manufacturer, announced today that its Board of Directors unanimously elected Eric K. Olson, the company's President and Chief Executive Officer, to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Olson has been instrumental in the development and expansion of sales and marketing for some of the industry's most groundbreaking companies. He brings a depth of experience from his career in medical technology having closely worked with leading clinicians and researchers to develop and market innovative solutions for orthopaedics and spine manufacturing companies.

Mr. Olson's orthopaedic industry career has spanned more than two decades. Prior to joining Amedica, Olson was the Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Axial Biotech, Inc. In this role, he was responsible for bringing the first orthopaedic molecular diagnostic test to market. Before that he was the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Facet Solutions, Inc. He has also held senior business development, sales and marketing positions with several companies including Medtronic Neurological and Smith & Nephew. Mr. Olson holds an undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science and Health Administration from the University of Utah. He also completed a Masters level internship program, from the same institution.
