"We're proud to celebrate our enduring 60-year relationship with New York Life Insurance Company. This relationship demonstrates the long-term stability of the American Bar Endowment and the quality of the insurance plans we provide," said Martha Walters Barnett, president of the Endowment. The American Bar Endowment, founded in 1942, is a nonprofit organization that provides insurance plans exclusively to qualified lawyers. These unique and affordable plans are underwritten by trusted insurers like New York Life and offer a charitable giving option. Insured lawyers are able to make tax-deductible donations of their dividends to enhance the Endowment's charitable mission of improving the administration of justice.
Grants from the Endowment, made possible by Endowment-insureds' dividend donations, through 2015 total more than $270 million. These grants support hundreds of law-related public service, educational and research programs and projects.
Since 1845, New York Life has helped people plan for their future. The Fortune 100 company offers a range of options – from retirement planning to smart investments to life insurance – and is one of the largest underwriters of professional association insurance programs in the country.
