CHICAGO, Nov. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) is now accepting applications for its 2016-2018 Basic Research Fellowship and 2016 Medical Student Summer Fellowship (MSSF) programs. Applications for these programs will be accepted beginning today, Monday, November 30, 2015. Deadlines for grant applications will be in January 2016; see below for specific deadlines.
American Brain Tumor Association Basic Research Fellowships: These are two-year, $100,000 grants supporting postdoctoral fellows embarking on careers dedicated to brain tumor research. Fellows are expected to work under the auspices of a lead mentor who has a demonstrated history of brain tumor research and mentorship and is located at the same academic institution. This partnership between the fellow and the mentor provides the research scientific management and other leadership guidance necessary to foster the prospective fellows' career advancement.
The ABTA Basic Research Fellowship grant deadline is January 13, 2016 at
12 noon CST/1 p.m. EST.
American Brain Tumor Association Medical Student Summer Fellowships: Medical Student Summer Fellowships are $3,000 grants to support medical students who wish to spend a summer conducting brain tumor research. The fellowship must be completed over a 12-week period under the guidance of a mentor. The goal of this program is to provide an introductory learning experience that will motivate and empower talented medical students and develop the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career in neuro-oncology research.
The ABTA Medical Student Summer Fellowship grant deadline is January 27, 2016 at
12 noon CST/1 p.m. EST.
