American Hospital Management Company (AHMC) Proudly Announces the Ground Breaking of The Cancer Centre of the Eastern Caribbean
WASHINGTON, April 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- American Hospital Management Company (AHMC) proudly announces the ground breaking of The Cancer Centre of the Eastern Caribbean. The new radiation oncology centre is the vision of the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, the Honorable Baldwin Spencer. The Centre is a joint venture between the AHMC managed Mount St. John's Medical Centre, the government of Antigua and Barbuda, the various governments of the Eastern Caribbean, MEI Healthcare Corporation of Canada, Cancer Partners UK and the Bahamas Cancer Center.
In Antigua and Barbuda there was a ground breaking ceremony for The Cancer Centre Eastern Caribbean on the campus of Mount St. John's Medical Centre. The cancer facility, in conjunction with Mount St. John's Medical Centre, will provide comprehensive medical, radiation and surgical oncology services.
"In addition, The Cancer Centre Eastern Caribbean will aim at enhancing cancer services at government hospitals within the OECS through the hosting of regular oncology clinics, (developing) cost-effective and safe chemotherapy services, provide oversight and expertise in the various islands and provide major cost savings to partner governments," Prime Minister Spencer said. "This, I believe, is major progress in this field within the OECS."
