Red Cross Donation Center Able to Provide More Life-Saving Blood Products
COLUMBUS, Wis., Aug. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- American Packaging Corporation (APC) and the Schottland family are honored to be supporters of the American Red Cross of Western New York's recent blood donation center expansion. The American Red Cross (ARC) provides many critical support services, including supplying 40% of the nation's blood supply, making this expansion not only needed but enthusiastically received by the community in Fairport, New York. This expansion will allow members of the community to come together and aid the growing demand for blood products, and the overall goal of serving more patients and saving more lives.

At the opening of the expanded blood donation center, the American Red Cross recognized all the sponsors for this project on a Donor Recognition Wall, and American Packaging Corporation is proud to be listed among many philanthropic companies and individuals who share the American Red Cross's dream.
American Packaging's representatives — Sophia Morici and Amy Cornell— attended the ribbon cutting ceremony and tour the renovated center. The expanded donation center will provide:
More convenient and consistent locations for donors – existing and new – to give blood.
More opportunities for donors to give red blood cells, platelets and plasma, which can only be collected at Blood Donation Centers, not mobile sites.
And most importantly, an increased capacity to collect lifesaving blood products more efficiently and build a more resilient blood supply for people in need during medical emergencies.
