American Pakistan Foundation Condemns Acts of Terrorism in the Wake of the Failed Car-Bombing in Times Square
NEW YORK, May 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Pakistan Foundation (APF) joins other Pakistani American groups in strongly condemning the attempted car-bombing in Times Square on May 1st and terrorism in all its forms.
We are grateful and relieved that this incident was prevented from becoming a tragedy thanks to the vigilance of New York City residents and the swift action of law-enforcement authorities. At the same time we remind everyone that the acts of one individual or group are not representative of the majority of the Pakistani-American community.
APF's mission to act as a catalyst to improve the social and economic condition of the people of Pakistan and to advance mutual understanding between the people of the US and Pakistan is even more critical now. The shared goals of the two nations were eloquently expressed at our inaugural event by our keynote speaker Secretary Hillary Clinton as well as the Foundation's Honorary Co-Chairs, General Colin Powell (Ret) and Moeen Qureshi.
Through our activities we aim to build a foundation for mutual understanding, respect and progressive dialogue that is essential in today's globally connected world.
