American Public Health Association @PublicHealth Twitter tops 200,000 followers
WASHINGTON, Sept. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Public Health Association this week surpassed 200,000 followers on its @PublicHealth Twitter account.
The @PublicHealth Twitter handle, one of five operated by APHA, launched in 2007 and shares public health news, highlights member and partner activities and provides general health-related information. In March 2011, Time Magazine selected APHA's @PublicHealth Twitter as one of the world's top 140 Twitter feeds to follow. Additionally, the @PublicHealth Twitter list includes feeds from more than 200 state and local health agencies.
The Association is active on a broad range of social media networks, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Flickr, Instagram and YouTube.
