American Realty Capital Announces Appointment of Financial Services Executive Sameer Jain as Managing Director and Chief Economist

NEW YORK, Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- American Realty Capital ("ARC") today announced the appointment of Sameer Jain as Managing Director and Chief Economist of ARC, and as Managing Director, Alternative Investments for Realty Capital Securities, ARC's FINRA member broker dealer subsidiary.

Mr. Jain has 18 years of experience across a broad range of alternative investment areas.  Throughout his career, Mr. Jain's responsibilities have included the formulation of investment strategy, the development of risk management practices and asset allocation models, and the assessment and engagement of real estate, private equity and hedge fund managers for the institutions he has served.  Mr. Jain has written extensively on alternative investment issues and his writings have been published in many industry journals and books.

Prior to joining ARC, Mr. Jain headed Investment Content & Strategy at UBS Alternative Investments, where he was also responsible for all illiquid investing across the platform. Prior to UBS he was a Director at Citi Capital Advisors, Citigroup's hedge fund and private equity investing platform.  Before Citi Capital, Mr. Jain was a partner at Cambridge Alternative Investments, an investment advisory firm that he co-founded which provided portfolio advisory services and developed private investment programs for family offices.  There, he evaluated, allocated capital, represented LP interest and monitored performance in both first time and established top tier international buyout, special situations, corporate finance, venture and real estate funds.  Before that, he was a Director with SunGard System Access.

An alumnus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology ("MIT") and Harvard University, Mr. Jain has graduate degrees in engineering, management, and public administration & policy.  He was also an Alfred Sloan Fellow at MIT and a Fellow of Public Policy & Management at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government for one year. Additionally, Mr. Jain holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.
