SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Solar energy lease provider American Solar Direct (ASD) today announced that it is now serving residential customers in the greater San Diego area through the opening of a new regional office and regional warehouse.

The San Diego location follows last month's opening of an American Solar Direct office in Northern California. The company's rapid growth in California reflects that more and more homeowners are recognizing the affordability of leased solar installations, the benefits of energy independence and the high quality customer care offered by ASD.
"Tens of thousands of California homeowners are realizing that well-designed solar systems immediately reduce their power costs, help the environment and add long-term value to their house," said Brennan Mulcahy, CEO of American Solar Direct. "And by leasing through American Solar Direct, many San Diego homeowners can realize savings almost immediately and reduce their dependence on utility provided power."
The opening of a San Diego sales office and warehouse allows American Solar Direct to better meet the solar needs of homeowners in San Diego County from Oceanside and Escondido right through to the southern U.S. border. Even before today's official announcement, American Solar Direct was receiving calls from San Diego homeowners seeking solar for their homes.
"We bring to San Diego a solid reputation for customer care and education, as well as a unique one-stop source for financing, installation, and long-term maintenance," said Geoff Atkins, ASD's Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer. "American Solar Direct offers a highly experienced and qualified team of customer service representatives, project managers, installers and electricians dedicated to creating energy independence for homeowners."
In addition to the sales consultants and installers already in place in San Diego, American Solar Direct expects to continue to recruit, hire and train additional employees and consultants to meet the region's demand. San Diego is California's top solar city, according to an Environment California report issued in January.
In San Diego and across California, homeowners are increasingly choosing solar power due to its accessibility and affordability; straight-forward and inexpensive leasing options; and continued government support through rebates and other financial incentives. These factors have increased the adoption of solar power in California dramatically. However, Atkins cautions that some rebates will be expiring and homeowners are encouraged to consider home solar sooner rather than later.
"It's simple to get started with solar power now," Atkins said. "The American Solar Direct experience begins with a free in-home consultation, then a custom design for your home, and finally a professional installation and our long-term maintenance program. We are committed to having a long-term relationship with our customers by earning their trust through excellent product offerings and superior customer care."
American Solar Direct's other offices are in Irvine, Woodland Hills, Santa Monica, Industry, West Covina and Santa Clara. The San Diego location will be the seventh for American Solar Direct in California.
The San Diego office is located at 10636 Scripps Summit Court, Suite 103, San Diego, CA, 92131.
