American Traffic Solutions Backs National Stop on Red Week

MESA, Ariz., Aug. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- American Traffic Solutions (ATS), North America's leading provider of road safety camera programs, reminds drivers to avoid injuries and fatalities by stopping safely on red every day and particularly during this year's National Stop on Red Week.

Initiated by the Federal Highway Administration, Stop on Red Week begins August 6 and continues through August 12. Local authorities will help spread the message for drivers to stop on red and avoid dangerous red-light running crashes.

Red-light running is not a victimless crime. In 2015, the most recent figures available, 771 people died and 137,000 were injured in red-light running crashes in the United States, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. More than half of those people were innocent pedestrians, bicyclists and occupants in other cars.
