American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Join Operation Gratitude in Celebrating 600,000 Packages Sent to American Service Members!
FLINT, Texas, Dec. 15, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT), in partnership with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, was proud and pleased to join Operation Gratitude in celebrating the shipment of the 600,000th package to American service men and women serving overseas.
On December 11, 2010 a small army of volunteers assembled packages for troops deployed in harm's way. The packages were destined for service personnel from all fifty states, including 550+ Service Members from the South Carolina Guard and Reserves. Assisting on Saturday's assembly line were local volunteers working side by side with members of AVTT and ESGR's South Carolina leadership. Command Sergeant Major Robert Brinkley and team mates inserted more than 700 Christmas cards authored by local organizations in the Myrtle Beach area.
Saturday's event included the assembly of Operation Gratitude's 600,000th package. "This Milestone Care Package includes a classic American gift; a Victory Vegas 8-Ball Motorcycle generously donated by one of our Corporate Partners" exclaimed Carolyn Blashek, CEO and founder of Operation Gratitude.
"The packages which Operation Gratitude provides to our service members serve as one of the highest tributes we can give. AVTT is extremely proud to partner with Operation Gratitude on this historic and significant milestone," commented Don Allen, CEO of AVTT.
AVTT and the Lake Havasu Hospitality Association were in attendance to help out for the day and also to make a notable presentation to Operation Gratitude. After the Patriot Days event held in September, the group proudly presented a check for $35,000 along with other personal comfort items for the troops.
