America's Thrift Stores Adds New Chief Operations Officer
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Nov. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- "'Where Every Purchase Helps Others' is more than just a slogan at America's Thrift Stores, it is our philosophy," said Mike Kane, new Chief Operations Officer at America's Thrift Stores. Kane joins the Leadership Team at America's Thrift Stores, the largest privately-owned thrift store company in the Southeast, after a distinguished career with Tiffany, where he served as Vice President of Manufacturing and a past Division President.
"I am excited about joining such a passionate group of people," said Kane, "and I see tremendous dedication to do whatever it takes to achieve the mission we have started." Kane's background as an engineer and a LEAN/Six Sigma Operations Improvement Expert makes him a great fit with America's Thrift Stores which operates 18 stores in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana.
"My goal is to help grow America's Thrift Stores and thereby increase the contributions to the family-centered Christian ministries we help support," he added. One of Kane's first responsibilities will be leading the efforts to drive operational effectiveness and increase clothing and merchandise donations in all stores.
Kane is an avid tri-athlete having competed in numerous Iron Man races. He and his wife Dawn have two grown children and are excited about moving to Birmingham from Connecticut.
