Amerigroup Honored by American Red Cross

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., July 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Amerigroup Corporation (NYSE: AGP) was awarded Outstanding Volunteer of the Year at the American Red Cross Coastal Virginia Region volunteer appreciation dinner. The award recognizes the Company's contributions to the Red Cross.

Amerigroup encourages and supports community involvement through our philanthropic arm, the Amerigroup Foundation; through our associate fundraising efforts; and through our Community Volunteer Program. The team has responded to those in need in Tennessee after Hurricane Gustav, those in Houston after Hurricane Ike, those in Georgia after Tropical Storm Hanna, and more recently in Virginia Beach after a Navy jet crashed into an apartment complex.
