Amerigroup Theme Song Goes Public

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Feb. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Amerigroup Foundation announced today that an original song – created to reinforce associates' sense of community and commitment – is being released to the public to raise money for non-profit organizations across the country.

The song "Rise Up" was written and created for Amerigroup by the popular band, The Verve Pipe, known for its 1996 hit "The Freshmen." "Rise Up" was first presented during the Company's 2011 annual leadership conference in January. The conference theme, "Be The Solution," rallied attendees while the song inspired a call to action.

"As we found out more about Amerigroup and its mission and goals, the song 'Rise Up' and its message became clearer to us," said Donny Brown of The Verve Pipe. "Thank you for allowing us to be involved with such a positive, caring and human outreach."

"Rise Up" can be purchased from iTunes, Amazon, Napster and Thumbplay. A video DVD release is forthcoming.  All proceeds will go to the Amerigroup Foundation to support local not-for-profits that serve the financially vulnerable, seniors and people with disabilities.
