Amerlux Introduces Hornet High Power Line Voltage 21-Watt LED Track Head And 18-Watt Semi-Recessed and Recessed Luminaires

FAIRFIELD, N.J., Nov. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Expanding its innovative Hornet LED family of track and multiple luminaires, Amerlux unveils the Hornet High Power (HP) LED Track Head and Semi-Recessed and Recessed fixtures featuring outstanding performance, reliability and guaranteed energy efficiency and maintenance savings.  A high performing alternative for designers and a replacement for a 20-watt ceramic metal halide fixture (23.5-watt total system), the small, compact, the Hornet HP 21-watt LED Track Head delivers the power of the CMH fixture while surpassing it with enhanced control, instant on, dimmability and long lifespan. The Hornet HP's quality, energy efficient light source, which also powers the 18-watt Semi-Recessed and Recessed Luminaires, provides better maintained and more secure lumens, as well as consistent color rendering.

Amerlux, an industry leader of task-specific, energy-efficient lighting solutions, an innovator of lighting solutions for retail, supermarket, commercial and hospitality markets and a recent recipient of Five Next Generation Luminaires Awards, offers the Hornet HP LED track head in 21 watts and configured with a vertical or horizontal ballast housing.  The Hornet HP LED track head delivers up to 1131 lumens. To complement the track fixture, the 18-watt Hornet HP Semi-Recessed and the 18-watt Recessed fixtures deliver up to 1,000 lumens.

Precision engineered for optimal thermal and optical performance, the Hornet HP harnesses and focuses LED lighting, delivering clean, crisp beams of light, with consistent benchmark color and punch. Life at 70% of initial lumen output is rated at 50,000 hours, which is more than 10-15 times longer than halogen and more than three times the life of 20-watt ceramic metal halide fixture, providing lower operating and maintenance costs with greater energy savings and better lumen maintenance over its life.

Amerlux uses LEDs tightly binned to 3 macAdam elipses to minimize color variations from fixture to fixture.  Hornet HP deploys a variety of CCTs (correlated color temperatures) and a CRI (color rendering index) of up to 85 standard with an optional 90-plus CRI in 3000K, that deliver clean consistent beams free of striations, projected heat and UV/IR radiation, making it optimal for lighting color or heat sensitive merchandise.  The fixture is also available in 2700K, 3500K and 4000K CCTs and Spot, Flood, Wide Flood and Linear Spread light distributions.

The Hornet HP LED track head is completely die-cast constructed with no exposed wiring. The proprietary engineered heat sink and optical housing combine conduction, convection and radiation elements to ensure that heat is efficiently transferred away from the LEDs, allowing for superior thermal management, passive cooling and maximum luminaire life. Also featured are a vertical tilt (0 to 90 degrees) and a 360-degree rotation to enable precise aiming.

Available with adapters designed for one, two and three circuits, Hornet HP LED luminaires are engineered with an electrical constant current LED driver and can be mounted to a variety of 120-, 240- and 277-volt track systems used throughout North America and on the global market, as well as busways and canopies.

Accessories include a Double Bezel, which accommodates up to two forms of media; a one-inch die cast aluminum Frontal Snoot, which accepts up to two forms of media.  Media cartridges include the Hexcel Louver, Spread Lenses, Color Filters and Cross Blade for better glare control and cut-off for special effects.

Standard finishes include White Texture, Black Texture and Silver Texture, as well as custom color options with over 200 durable powder coat painted finishes from Amerlux's extensive palette, to complement nearly any design scheme.

Hornet High Power LED Track, Semi-Recessed and Recessed Fixtures are CCC (China Compulsory Certification) and CE (Conformite Europeenee) listed.  LM79 and LM80 reports are available, as well as IES reports.
