RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Amil Participacoes S.A. (BM&FBOVESPA: AMIL3; Bloomberg: AMIL3 BZ; Reuters: AMIL3.SA), the largest healthcare operator in Brazil, announces today its consolidated results for June 30, 2012, in accordance with Brazilian corporate law and the ANS account chart.
Total MEMBERSHIP stood at 5,898.5 thousand at the end of June 2012, 4.9% up on the 2Q11 and 1.5% higher than 1Q12.
ADJUSTED OPERATING REVENUES totaled R$ 2,622.2 million in the 2Q12, 17.1% higher than 2Q11. In 1H12 revenues totaled R$ 5,177.6 million, 17.9% up on 1H11.
The 2Q12 MEDICAL LOSS RATIO came to 72.8%, 0.6 p.p. down on the 2Q11. In the first semester of 2012, MLR stood at 71.0%, 0.3 p.p. more than in the 1H11.
ADJUSTED EBITDA was R$ 191.3 million (with a margin of 7.3%) in the 2Q12, 14.2% higher than in the 2Q11 and accumulated R$ 468.6 million (with a margin of 9.1%) in 1H12, 18.8% up on the first six months of 2011.
ADJUSTED NET INCOME totaled R$ 66.2 million in the 2Q12, 30.6% higher than the same period in the previous year. In the first half of 2012 it registered R$ 169.1 million, 17.2% up on 1H11.
