LONDON, June 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In May 2016, CJ Group, the largest tryptophan exporter to China, plans to suspend production in its Indonesia plant. Yet, this won't largely influence the domestic market price of tryptophan, for it will just last a short period.
In late May, the domestic quotations for threonine keep low, almost the same as last month. In the short run, the market price of threonine is not likely to rise largely, given the continuous downturn in market price of corn and oversupply in the market.
Some Chinese lysine producers raised their quotations this month, pushing the market price of lysine to rebound. However, this rise may not be large and last just a short period, according to analyst CCM.
As for methionine, both quotations from producers and the market price go up slightly, due to the reduction in supply and surge in market price of soybean meal. However, given the market competition, domestic market price of methionine may go down gradually in the later period.
On 25 April, Global Bio-Chem announced fall in full-year 2015 revenue. In particular, its amino acid business continued suffering financial loss, affected by overcapacity, falling market price and production suspension. Meanwhile, revenues from upstream products and corn sweeteners also decreased.
On 5 May, Evonik released its Q1 2016 financial figures, showing stable performance.
China's export volume of lysine and lysine ester & salt hit record high in March, to 29,864 tonnes, due to the intense competition in domestic market and increasing demand from Europe. In the long term, the export of lysine is expected to keep high, given the de-stocking and falling market price of corn.Chinese farmers are stimulated by the continuous surge in pork market price. Since March 2016, the number of live pigs in farm has started to rebound. Thanks to this, domestic feed producers expect to improve their sales and profits.
