AMPAC Fine Chemicals Names Dr. Conrad Hummel Executive Director

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif., Oct. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AMPAC Fine Chemicals (AFC) announced today that it has strengthened its Business Development Team with the addition of Conrad Hummel, Ph.D. as an Executive Director of Business Development.

"His technical background and experience establishing partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies will help enable AFC to continue its rapid growth."

Dr. Hummel brings over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry leading R&D and business development.  Most recently, he worked with both startup and established companies providing his expertise in the areas of business development and custom manufacturing. This included a role as acting Director of Business Development for AmideBio, a Boulder, Colorado-based biotechnology company and with Array BioPharma for the out-licensing of early stage drug candidates and the establishment of new research partnerships.

Prior to Array, Dr. Hummel was a research scientist at Amgen and started his career as a medicinal chemist at Glaxo in RTP, NC.

Dr. Hummel received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Gettysburg College. He performed his graduate studies in the laboratories of Dr. K.C. Nicolaou at the University of Pennsylvania, The Scripps Research Institute, and the University of California, San Diego that culminated in a Ph.D. in 1993.
