Firms to Select Venue, Line up Sponsors and Plan Logistics for Acclaimed Collection of 420 Photos and Artwork by World Famous Photographer
NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- ADB (Angela de Bona agency), one of the world's most respected photographic and artists' agencies, and 360bespoke, the fast-growing boutique media firm, announced today a strategic alliance to bring Patrick Demarchelier's "Images et mode au Petit Palais" exhibition to New York for a 2017-2018 presentation. The companies will work together to select a venue, align sponsors and plan logistics for the event, which was one of the most successful photographic exhibits in the history of Le Petit Palais, Musee des Beaux Arts de la Ville de Paris. A collection of Demarchelier's most famous images will be presented to the public during the exhibition.
"I am very excited to bring this exhibition to New York. It is one of the proudest moments in my career and I've long wanted to present it in one of fashion's most important cities," said Demarchelier. "Angela de Bona, my long time representative, and the team at 360bespoke are the perfect partners to bring this collection to the US. Every day is a new challenge and as a photographer you must constantly renew yourself."
"The exhibition in Paris was a moment in time that became a worldwide event," said de Bona. "Rarely has a photographic event ever received such acclaim. New York is a natural evolution of this experience and I am incredibly proud to work with my friends at 360bespoke to make it happen."
"There is no more accomplished, respected photographer than Patrick Demarchelier, and we are very excited to work with him and Angela to bring this to New York," said Jeremy Murphy, President and CEO of 360bespoke. "There are already representatives from the most renowned exhibition spaces vying to host this event. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience for any enthusiast of photography, fashion, art and celebrity and we cannot wait to present it."
The New York presentation is only the second time the exhibition will be shown to the public. The 2008 event at Paris' Le Petit Palais, Musee is considered one of the most successful, acclaimed photographic collections in the museum's history. For three months more than 360,000 people came to see the prized collection of the photographer's work.
"Patrick Demarchelier's sensitivity, deep sense of humanity, respect for his subjects, and ability to unearth passion in each individual advances the museum's aesthetic commitment," said Gilles Chazal, Curator-in-chief Director of Le Petit Palais. "Regardless of whether the subject is famous or unknown, they vibrate to the frequency of the photographer's generous gaze. And the visitor is carried away by the life force bursting from the model's eyes."
Demarchelier is one of the world's most accomplished photographers, having shot the biggest names in fashion, celebrity and the arts. The exhibition will include 400 pieces from his extensive collection, including portraits of Princess Diana, Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise and many more of the world's most famous actors, models and personalities. He is the very first non-British citizen to shoot the Royal Family, and became Princess Diana's personal favorite. In 2007, Christine Albanel, the French Minister of Culture honored Demarchelier as an Officer in l'ordre des Arts at des Lettres. Today he shoots covers, fashion features and profiles for Conde Nast, including all international editions of Vogue and Vanity Fair. He also regularly photographs commercial campaigns for Chanel, Louis Vuitton, YSL and a wide array of other global fashion brands.
The ADB Agency is one of the fashion and beauty industry's most respected representative of the biggest names in photography, art, make-up, hair and many other disciplines. Started by de Bona in 1987 in Paris, the firm has grown to include offices in New York and London.
