Anglian Water Awards Contract For Up To 300,000 Polymer Water Meters To Elster

LUTON, England, July 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Elster (NYSE: ELT) announced today that Anglian Water has selected Elster to supply up to 300,000 V210 volumetric polymer water meters in the UK over the next two years.

This follows Anglian's selection of Elster in 2010 to supply V200 and V210 volumetric polymer hybrid Smart Meters as part of Anglian Water's extended trial of radio meters.

Anglian Water is one of the leading operators of water services in the UK, supplying more than six million domestic and business customers in the east of England with water and wastewater services.

The V210 volumetric polymer meter offers long-life and high accuracy over a wide operating range and has been approved to the latest European Directive (2004/22/EC) and associated European and international standards.

With its polymer body, the V210 meter has been developed to significantly reduce its impact on the environment throughout its life cycle, having a carbon footprint of approximately one-third of its brass body counterparts.

The V210 polymer meter is also the first water meter to achieve compliance with the UK Water Industry Specification 4-32-19 making it suitable for all installations, including land which may be contaminated or at risk of future contamination.
