Animal Rescue Corps invites public to lace up for annual Tommy Crockett Memorial Rescue Run at Two Rivers Ford
Thanksgiving Day Family Fun Run and 5K proceeds to support ARC's animal rescue efforts and organizational mission to end animal suffering
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Animal Rescue Corps (ARC), a national nonprofit animal protection organization, brings back its traditional Tommy Crockett Memorial Rescue Run set for Thursday, Nov. 26, at Two Rivers Ford, located at 76 Belinda Parkway in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
The annual event raises funds to support ARC's broad animal protection initiatives, including emergency rescue, education and advocacy. ARC's emergency rescue operations have saved countless animals through large-scale rescues from cruel conditions, often working in partnership with local law enforcement agencies in communities that lack the resources to rescue, shelter and rehabilitate animals in large numbers. Through every aspect of its rescue and advocacy work, ARC also promotes animal protection education to build public awareness and support around the plight of animals.
"The Rescue Run is always a highlight of our year because it brings together a community of people who genuinely care about changing animals' lives," said ARC Executive Director Tim Woodward. "We see animals suffering in heartbreaking conditions, and the Rescue Run helps raise the funds that allow us to provide the care and safe shelter they need to begin their recovery."
The event begins with a one-mile Family Fun Run at 8 a.m. followed by the 5K Rescue Run at 8:30 a.m. Both runs include guaranteed T-shirts for those registered before Nov. 12, and the USA Track and Field-certified 5K will include medals for the first, second and third fastest male and female runners in more than a dozen age groups. The overall top finishing male and female will receive an additional trophy and gift basket. "Back of the pack" strollers, scooters and well-socialized leashed dogs are welcome at the family-friendly event, and the first 100 dogs will receive a special race bandana.
"Kicking off the Holiday Season with the Tommy Crockett Memorial Rescue Run is a long-standing Two Rivers Ford tradition," said Tammy Jacobs, marketing director of Two Rivers Ford, the event's presenting sponsor. "We absolutely love this event and look forward to seeing the runners, families and, of course, the pets again this year!" Additional sponsors supporting the event include Sound Emporium and Hermitage Golf Course.
