Ann Arbor, Michigan Celebrates Independent, Experimental Films at the 48th Ann Arbor Film Festival, March 23-28, 2010

See 170 films from more than 20 countries over six days in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Founded in 1963, the Ann Arbor Film Festival started as a vital forum for filmmakers outside of the commercial film industry to share their art with audiences. Today the festival continues its founding spirit as a premier showcase for bold, visionary, experimental and high-caliber films.

The 48th Ann Arbor Film Festival will take place in downtown Ann Arbor at the historic Michigan and State Theaters, March 23-28, 2010. This year's festival includes 40 programs, more than a dozen premiere screenings, and filmmakers in attendance from around the world.

Filmmakers appearing include London-based Luciano Zubillaga with Music for a Missing Film, acclaimed artist Robert Todd with Golden Hour and David Sherman with his feature documentary Wasteland  Utopias. The festival will also welcome Matt McCormick, fresh off his U.S. premiere at SXSW, with his first feature narrative film Some Days Are Better Than Others, starring James Mercer of the Shins and Carrie Brownstein of Sleater Kinney.
