Another successful edition of Saborea Puerto Rico: A Culinary Extravaganza has concluded
The Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association announces that the next edition of Saborea Puerto Rico is set for April 3-6, 2014
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, April 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Saborea Puerto Rico: A Culinary Extravaganza concluded exceeding all expectations of those who attended this world-class gastronomic festival. Attendees had a fun-filled weekend of unforgettable experiences with entertaining cooking demos performed by local and international chefs, delicious samplings of local restaurants, the best wines, beers and liquors. Overall -- it was the best Puerto Rican culinary scene.
"We finished an event that showed the world the kindness of our culinary culture, Puerto Rico shone this past weekend and we reaffirmed that we are the culinary capital of the Caribbean," said Clarisa Jimenez, president and CEO of the PRHTA. "All our initiatives like Bubbles and Bites, the Privileged Dinner and the culinary festival at Escambron beach attracted a total of 7,000 people, which equals total success."
Those who assisted Saborea Puerto Rico got to see live cooking demos from over 60 local chefs and international celebrity chefs such as Chef Kevin Sbraga, winner of the seventh edition of Top Chef DC; Jennifer Behn, winner of the second edition of MasterChef on Fox Network and Julio Lazzarini, an infamous Puerto Rican chef who was a finalist on the program Chopped on the Food Network.
Also, the Department of Natural Resources, the Solid Waste Authority, the Trash O Organization, the Estuary of San Juan Bay and the Municipality of San Juan joined forces to implement a recycling initiative.
Puerto Rico became the center of attention due to the great ambiance that Saborea Puerto Rico generated. The event had a significant impact for the destination generating more than 2,700 hotel room nights and pumping over $1.7 million into the local economy through direct and indirect spending.
