
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Associates in Missouri Volunteer to Help Local Organizations During Third Annual Community Service Day
Associates Turn to Fitness on Wednesday for National Walk@Lunch Day
ST. LOUIS, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Approximately 188 Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Missouri associates and their friends and families joined forces to participate in the parent company's national Community Service Day. These efforts helped dozens of organizations across the state.

Coinciding with Points of Light & Hands On Network's National Volunteer Week, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Missouri's associates participated in many activities at the following locations:

- Cape (Girardeau) Volunteer Intergenerational Center
- Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence (Cape Girardeau)
- Habitat for Humanity (Springfield)
- Ozarks Food Harvest (Springfield)
- Edgewood Children's Center (St. Louis)
- Food Outreach (St. Louis)
- Guardian Angel Settlement (St. Louis)
- YWCA Metro St. Louis Head Start
On Wednesday, April 28, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Missouri will turn their attention to fitness by hosting Walk@Lunch Day, a national workplace program to encourage employees to take a walk during their lunch hour. Associates in St. Louis, Springfield, Cape Girardeau and Columbia will participate in a mass group walk

"Statistics show that two out of three Americans don't get enough exercise, yet physical activity is a crucial part of creating and maintaining health.
