Anti-Waste Group, Strong America Now, To Host South Carolina Tea Party Convention

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., Jan. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Strong America Now is sponsoring the South Carolina Tea Party Convention on Jan. 15-16 at the Springmaid Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach. The event will bring together SC Tea Parties and grassroots conservative organizations for the purpose of enhancing networking capabilities, sharing resources and ideas, encouraging the formation of new tea party groups and providing an educational forum for nationally known experts on a variety of current subjects.

The event has a line up of nationally known speakers, authors, and dignitaries including Strong America Now founder and waste elimination expert, Mike George. Other speakers include presidential candidates Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich, South Carolina officials, U.S. Sen. Jim Demint, U.S. Reps. Mick Mulvaney, Tim Scott, Jeff Duncan and Joe Wilson as well as Attorney General Alan Wilson, State Treasurer Curtis Loftis and Superintendent of Education Mick Zais. 

The South Carolina Tea Party Convention is expecting over 500 leaders and patriots to attend this precedent-setting event.

"There is such a tremendous need to get the real facts out to a misinformed citizenry," said Joe Dugan, state coordinator for the South Carolina Patriots and organizer of the event. "One of our missions will be to seek out the truth of the issues, and then to inform others about the perils that we are facing as a nation.  Knowledge is power and if the American people really knew what is going on, they would not tolerate it. A forum such as this convention is a giant step toward accomplishing that mission."

The Convention will begin on Sunday with a "Welcome Brunch" at 11 a.m. and the day's activities will conclude at 9 p.m.  Monday's events will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., followed by the Fox News/SCGOP presidential debate at 9 p.m.  Admission to the Convention is limited to tea party or grassroots organization members and their guests. Pre-registration with your local tea party or grassroots organization is required.  The cost for the event is only $1 per day to be paid upon arrival, but donations of $5 per day are encouraged. The event is open to the press.
