Apple Pay Available To Citi Cardmembers October 20

With A Simple Touch Pay With a Citi® Credit or Debit Card Using Apple Pay

NEW YORK, Oct. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On October 20, Citi cardmembers will have a new way to checkout that feels more like shopping in the express lane. Citi cardmembers will be able to pay with a simple touch within apps and at over 200,000 stores by adding a participating Citi credit or debit card to Apple Pay.

Apple Pay offers important new security features. When you add a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and stored in the Secure Element on your device. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time unique dynamic security code, instead of using the security code from the back of your card. Apple Pay will be available on eligible Citi-branded consumer credit and debit cards issued in the U.S.

Availability
Apple Pay will be available in the US starting Monday, October 20 with iOS 8.1. Apple Pay works in stores with iPhone 6 and iPhone Plus, and paying for physical goods and services in apps works with iPhone 6, iPhone Plus, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3.
