Applied Precision's Mobile Imaging Lab Hits the Road for a Cross-Country Journey
ISSAQUAH, Wash., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Precision is sending its Mobile Imaging Lab on a cross-country journey to colleges, universities and research centers.
The Applied Precision Mobile Imaging Lab is housed on a specially designed 40-foot coach bus. The lab is equipped with Applied Precision's DeltaVision® Core and personalDV imaging systems along with a wet lab. New this year is a special touch screen education section on the bus that highlights the groundbreaking DeltaVision OMX® super-resolution imaging system.
The DeltaVision OMX is a three dimensional, super-resolution microscopy system that more than doubles the optical resolution of traditional light microscopy. This super-resolution capability is especially important to cell biologists and microbiologists seeking to study objects and events that lie beyond the limits of conventional microscopy imaging methods.
Applied Precision's Mobile Imaging Lab acts as a traveling imaging workshop and learning center for scientists and students. Visitors can image their own samples on advanced imaging equipment and learn the fundamentals of light microscopy techniques. Access to the bus is free and the focus is on education.
"The Mobile Imaging Lab is just one way we reach out to scientists, researchers and students," says Joseph Victor, president and CEO of Applied Precision. "Applied Precision offers a variety of educational events and support to worldwide workshops each year, but the Mobile Imaging Lab is certainly unique for us and our industry. It brings a state-of-the-art imaging lab to a researcher's doorstep, allowing them to test our latest imaging instruments in real time using their specific applications."
