Ecosa Institute is recruiting students world-wide for its Regenerative Ecological (RE-) Design Certificate, and seeking donors who are interested in impact investments.
PRESCOTT, Ariz., Nov. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Sketches and built models line Ecosa Institute's studio in downtown Prescott, AZ as students in its RE-Design Certificate program display their designs of a passive solar house specific to a given location. This is not just any house, but one that lives with nature, and serves the needs of both the client and nature as its qualities work to regenerate the ecology it has become a part of.
This project is a microcosm of what students learn at Ecosa. Blending knowledge and influences from the fields of ecology, architecture, interior architecture and landscape architecture, urban and land planning, permaculture, product design, graphic & communications design, and systems science. Ecosa's faculty guide students toward an understanding of sustainable built environments. By accomplishing each of these disciplines, Ecosa students gain a better idea of where their interests and expertise lay.
Classrooms and textbooks provide a limited scope, but Ecosa offers real-world project management for a real-world client each semester. Students undertake a professional and integrated design process with an eye on budgets and emphasis on ecological applications. Each student contributes to the overall project, which then becomes part of a student's portfolio.
With more than 350 alumni, Ecosa hosts students from multiple disciplines, including, engineering, architecture, interior design, graphic design, urban planning, agriculture, education, landscape architecture, environmental science, and fine art. The commonalities are an interest in art and design, a love of nature, and a desire to make positive change in the world. Whether you are a recent graduate, a current college-level or graduate student, or are looking to change your career, Ecosa Institute welcomes you.
Spring 2019 semester: January 28 to May 10, 2019, registration open until November 30, 2018.
Fall 2019 semester: August 26-December 6, 2019.
