Arizona State University's Weaponized Narrative Initiative Deploys Truepic's Image Authentication Technology to Promote Authenticated Content Online
TEMPE, Ariz., Oct. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Arizona State University's Weaponized Narrative Initiative and Luminosity Lab are partnering with Truepic to counter disinformation online by capturing and sharing authenticated content ahead of the 2018 mid-term congressional elections.
By engaging the university community to document and report on political events throughout the country, the narrative initiative will be able to track verified events nationwide. Users of Truepic technology can share their authenticated images and videos publicly to disseminate authentic content as a counterweight to disinformation and fake images.

Truepic's application allows anyone with a smartphone to capture a certified authentic image and share it online instantaneously. Truepic's solution leverages proprietary computer vision testing and machine learning to authenticate images and videos, each one with immutable references on the Blockchain. The Truepic app is free and can be found in the App Store and on Google Play.

Both ASU's Weaponized Narrative Initiative and Truepic are proud participants of the U.S. Department of State's Global Engagement Center (GEC) Tech Demo series. The Global Engagement Center is charged with leading the U.S. government's efforts to counter propaganda and disinformation from international terrorist organizations and foreign countries.
