Armanino McKenna Hires Lynn Henley as Tax Partner

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Armanino McKenna LLP (www.amllp.com), the largest California-based accounting and consulting firm, announced that tax-exempt specialist,  Lynn Henley, CPA, has joined the firm as a partner working from the firm's San Francisco financial district office.

Henley's practice will focus on public charities, private foundations and other tax-exempt organizations. She comes to Armanino McKenna with a record of success and an unmatched skillset in her discipline. Henley's role will be to provide the firm's tax-exempt clients with tax consulting and compliance services and to deliver professional insight into the operational and regulatory challenges, governance issues and donor expectations facing these organizations.

Prior to her extensive work with public charities, private foundations, labor unions, business associations and social clubs, Henley worked with for-profit entities and individuals, developing comprehensive experience in both areas. Her knowledge of planned giving and tax efficient strategies provides Armanino McKenna with the final puzzle piece for the firm's multifaceted tax team, says Armanino McKenna's Managing Partner, Andy Armanino.

Prior to joining Armanino McKenna, Henley was a tax partner at a respected regional accounting firm in San Francisco where she was responsible for all aspects of a tax consulting and compliance practice including preparation and filing of 235 exempt organization returns. In that role she was also responsible for development and implementation of training programs for the accounting staff, development and presentation of educational seminars for clients, tax support for seven audit partners and consulting related to mergers, spin-offs, unrelated business income, property tax exemptions and income and sales tax nexus issues.

Active in her professional and local communities, Henley is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Checklists and Organizer Task Force (national scope), a board member of the San Francisco Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, an Associate Member of the Tax Section of the California Bar Association and a current board member of the Community Music Center of San Francisco. She is the former co-Chair of the Disaster Assistance Team of the American Red Cross in San Mateo County. Henley holds a master's degree in taxation from San Francisco State University, a bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of California at Berkeley, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
