Armanino McKenna Named a Top 10 Value Added Reseller and Consulting 'Jewel'

SAN RAMON, Calif., May 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Armanino Consulting, the business consulting division of Armanino McKenna (http://www.amllp.com/services/consulting), is gaining recognition from major business and accounting trade press outlets as one of the nation's best and fastest growing consulting practices.

Bob Scott's Insights (BSI), a business consulting and accounting technology publication that focuses on Value Added Resellers (VARs), recently identified Armanino Consulting as the 10th largest VAR in the nation by revenue in its annual BSI Top 100 VARs edition. And in March, Consulting Magazine named the firm as one of its "Seven Small Jewels – The Hidden Gems of the Consulting Profession."

In his report, Bob Scott, a veteran journalist who has covered accounting software, IT and consulting nationally for more than 20 years, notes that Armanino Consulting was "the biggest gainer" in VAR revenue. "The accounting firm arm saw its revenue jump to just under $28 million in 2011, a 62-percent increase from $17.2 million in 2010."

BSI further reports that "There was a lot more going on at Armanino than accounting software last year," naming the firm's expansion of its QlikView practice with the acquisition of Factory Information Management Solutions and the hiring of Armanino Consulting Director Scott Mangelson as the new leader of its Microsoft Dynamics CRM business as drivers of growth. Armanino Consulting Partner Chris Moore is quoted in the story saying the firm's consulting group expects to end 2012 with 25 percent more revenue than in 2011.

In naming Armanino Consulting a "hidden jewel," Consulting Magazine Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Joseph Kornik's feature details the growth of the firm's consulting practice from 2004 when it was launched with a handful of FTEs. "Today," he writes, "the practice has grown to 115 people and is on target to generate some $34 million in revenue this year."

In the article on the firm, Armanino Consulting Partner-in-Charge Tom Mescall says that the strategy that produced such spectacular growth was a focus on the needs of Chief Financial Officers. "But we got really specific and took it a step further by focusing on CFOs of fast-growing companies, firms that are anywhere from about $50 million up to $1 billion" in annual revenue.
