Army Veteran Makes Stop in Hollywood to Offer Words of Hope & Thanks to Post 9-11 Veterans

Who:

Army Veteran Zachary Sherman partners with The Soldiers Project (www.thesoldiersproject.org) to raise awareness and support for PTSD during his 9,484-mile motorcycle journey through North, Central and South America. He has a scheduled stop in Hollywood, CA on September 29.

What:

During his time in Hollywood, Sherman will share his story of inspiration to:

- Local post 9-11 veterans
- Therapists who volunteer their time to offer free counseling services to vets and their families
- Founder and Senior staff of The Soldiers Project 
- Motorcycle riders who are joining Zach on the road

When:

September 29, 2016 at 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. At 3, all riders will exit south onto Highland Ave. en route to PCH via Sunset Blvd.

Why:

After serving with the 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team in Iraq, Sherman was diagnosed with PTSD and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). He attempted to get help but nearly lost his life due to mismanaged medications. His health issues went untreated and a few years later, his dream career as a municipal police officer ended. "I know I nearly took my own life even though I am only mildly effected by PTSD and depression, so I know that there are others out there struggling to survive." He overcame his depression with community support; only to see six men from his former unit take their own lives. He needed to make a difference and found The Soldier Project and started this 9,484-mile motorcycle journey to raise support and awareness for PTSD.
