FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Discovering Fort Lauderdale's intriguing historical heritage sites is a great experience for locals and visitors alike — but discovering them while traveling via Water Taxi makes it even more fun and a unique experience! Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District is pleased to introduce its Heritage Tours, which include admission to the guest's choice of two out of three heritage sites, as well as an all-day access pass for Water Taxi.

The tours will be available daily for the Water Taxi, Historic Stranahan House Museum and History Museum Fort Lauderdale, and from Tuesdays through Sundays for Bonnet House Museum & Gardens, beginning as early as 9:30 a.m. Docent led tours at History Museum Fort Lauderdale and Historic Stranahan House Museum are available at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Heritage Tours are a special summer offer and will be available at this rate only from May 27 through Sept. 30, 2016.

The Heritage Tour includes:
- One, all-day access Water Taxi pass. Guests can leave the traffic and parking behind, and board a Water Taxi to see the city, explore its history, attractions, eateries and shops along the way.
- Admission to two of three heritage sites:
- Bonnet House Museum & Gardens is nestled in the center of busy Fort Lauderdale Beach on 35 acres of pristine barrier island habitat. Construction on the plantation-style house began in 1920. Bonnet House remains much as it was in the 1930s and 1940s, when Frederic Clay Bartlett and his wife, Evelyn, created the unique blend of art and whimsy that delights visitors today. A walk along the Nature Trail allows guests to step back in time and experience a rare piece of old South Florida. The house and grounds are open for guided public tours six days a week (it is closed on Mondays). It is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
- Historic Stranahan House Museum is the oldest surviving structure in Broward County and was built in 1901 as the original trading post for the early pioneers and Seminole Indians. The iconic structure along the New River served as the pioneer settlement's town hall, post office, and first bank. Later it became a boarding house and restaurant. The Stranahan family is credited as being Fort Lauderdale's founding family and the museum offers a glimpse the city's beginning, their legacy, and the historic structure. The House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
- History Museum Fort Lauderdale is the only pioneer village in South Florida with the largest collection of historic buildings in Broward County. It's a great place for adults and children to learn about the history of Fort Lauderdale, and how the city evolved from pioneer times through today. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Historical Society offers a unique glimpse into the past with guided tours conducted in period costumes.

Visitors who would like to enjoy the third attraction can simply present their ticket stub at the chosen heritage site admission desk, and will receive a general admission one-day ticket ($10 for adults and $8 for children aged 6–12).
