As Millions Turn to Alternative Care, the Financial Education Benefits Center Will Offer Discounts on Alternative Medicine

According to Martinez, using the FEBC membership benefit will be easy. Once the benefit is available, eligible members will be able to search for participating alternative medicine providers online or by phone. After locating a provider that works for them, members present a membership card at their appointment to receive a discount.

"The goal here at FEBC is to make these kinds of treatments easier on your wallet," said Martinez. "You may already be familiar with alternative medicine. Or maybe you're just interested in it as an option for you or your family. This upcoming benefit is going to save you something no matter where you are in terms of alternative care."

Alternative medicine isn't just popular, but it may be growing in general. Yoga is a big factor in that growth, jumping from 20 million practitioners in 2012 to the current 36 million. Overall, alternative medicine has shown some upward trends since 2002. FEBC predicts more growth in the world of alternative medicine and hopes to make these alternative care options more affordable by offering discounts to interested members.
